The correct courier vehicle is the smallest option that can legally carry the load, physically accept every handling unit, be loaded and unloaded safely, and reach both sites. Pallet count or cubic volume alone cannot make that decision.
Which vehicle suits an urgent load?
Small vans suit compact parcels; panel vans provide more length and volume; Luton or tail-lift vehicles support bulky or palletised goods; lorries carry heavier loads. These are planning categories, not universal capacities. Check the assigned vehicle's actual payload, apertures, equipment and site access.

Why are payload and load-space separate?
Payload is the weight a vehicle can legally carry after accounting for vehicle, fuel, driver and equipment. Load-space is the usable physical area. A light long item may exceed load length, while a compact pallet may fit physically but exceed payload or tail-lift capacity. Both checks are mandatory.

When is a tail-lift required?
A tail-lift may be required when neither site has a forklift and the handling unit can be moved safely on the platform. Confirm individual weight, dimensions, surface, gradient and pallet-truck compatibility. A tail-lift does not solve steps, rough ground or inaccessible final placement.
