A specialist vehicle is required when standard enclosed capacity cannot safely load, restrain, carry, control or unload the consignment. The decision may be driven by weight, shape, lifting requirements, site access, temperature range, dangerous-goods classification or procurement rules. Each constraint must be declared before equipment and personnel are assigned.
