Delivery control 01
Day hire suits workloads where routes, volumes or priorities may change during the shift. A dedicated vehicle and driver remain assigned for the agreed window, reducing repeated dispatch activity and providing operational continuity. It is most useful when the customer can coordinate tasks and release instructions through one accountable contact.

Delivery control 02
The price and operating limit depend on vehicle type, start location, hire duration, expected mileage, waiting, route geography and any handling requirement. The booking should define who can issue instructions, where the vehicle finishes and how overtime or additional mileage is authorised before the shift begins.
| Commercial variable | Decision to record |
|---|---|
| Hire window | Start time, expected finish and overtime approval. |
| Mileage | Included assumption and treatment of material route expansion. |
| Control contact | Named person authorised to release or change tasks. |
| End position | Return base, final delivery point or agreed repositioning. |
The customer and transport desk agree the operating window, likely workload and instruction channel before the vehicle reports. Tasks are then released through the nominated contact, with legal driving and safety limits protected throughout. The shift closes with a record of completed movements, exceptions, mileage and final vehicle position.
Confirm vehicle, start point, hours, likely routes, cargo types and finish condition.
Use one authorised customer contact to issue and reprioritise work.
Protect loading safety, vehicle capacity, driving rules and agreed service boundaries.
